Today is February 29th, colloquially known as “Leap Day.” Its origins are largely mathematical. It actually takes the Earth 365 days and 6 hours to complete its journey around the sun. So once a year we fix the error of the previous three.
But the end result is that today we have an extra day. We might not even notice. It’s just Thursday. Leave me alone.
I want to suggest we think of it instead as an opportunity. Tell me there’s not to some part of your life where you feel stuck, where you want to take a leap and you just haven’t been able to.
Today can be the day you make that leap. It doesn’t matter what it is. Get out of your head. It can be turning left rather than right on the way home, or reaching out to someone you had a big fight with, or doing something artistic for the first time in forever.
It can be a new issue or an old one, something big or something very, very small. It doesn’t matter. All that matters is that we stop thinking, close our eyes and jump.
Give it a shot! I’ll do the same.
See you Monday.
Appreciate that leap
