Last week I visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the first time in a long while. And much to my surprise, as I turned into a room in the modern wing I stumbled into this, Georges Seurat’s 1884 painting “A Sunday on La Grande Jatte.”
I love how the brush strokes make the image seem to shimmer. For me it captures what the light is like on a beautiful fall day, the way it dances in the leaves.
